Booking FAQ

Please review my booking information below as needed! Everything important should be here, but if you do have any further questions, please send me an email. 

Booking Terms Summary

Please read this quick summary before submitting a booking form. Thank you for your support!

  1.  I only tattoo flash and custom work in my art style. I will not copy existing work or replicate another artists' style.
  2.  I will not tattoo hands, fingers, faces. 
  3. I tattoo 18+ only. Please have photo ID available.
  4.  Deposits are required for all bookings. Deposit amounts range from $50-$150+gst. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable in any circumstance. Deposits are required at the time of booking. If you cannot afford a deposit at this time- do not submit a booking request.
  5. I flat-rate most tattoos depending on expected time and difficulty. Most tattoos I do are between $150 and $700. You can look at my flash book to get a sense of my usual pricing.
  6. My minimum for very quick tattoos (less than 30 minutes) is $125+gst.
  7. I have a no guests policy in my studio. You may have someone drop you off, but they cannot stay during your session. For matching tattoos, each client will have a separate appointment time. 
  8. Last-minute cancellations (less than 48 hours notice), no-shows and unexplained lateness in excess of 15 minutes will result in a forfeit of your deposit and your appointment being cancelled.
  9. I do not send custom drawings prior to the session. I do not do color studies for color work (I work by coloring intuitively on the skin). You will have the opportunity to request changes during your session.

Basic Info
 Hi! My name is Grace and I tattoo out of a fully AHS-inspected private studio in Bridgeland, Calgary.  My pronouns are She/Her. I have a Bachelor's of Fine art degree in Drawing, and I did conventional tattoo apprenticeship at Radio Block Tattoo in Calgary. I am currently in my third year of tattooing.  I work by appointment only, and you can fill out a booking form to request an appointment at any time- note that I usually book 4 - 8 weeks out. Please read the info below before filling out a booking form and email me (graceaverytattoo@gmail.com) with any additional questions.
Age
I only tattoo folks that are over 18. You must bring a valid photo id to your session. I will not tattoo minors, even with guardian consent.

The Booking Process

Once I receive a booking form from you, I will get back to you via email or phone within 3 business days to let you know if and when I can take on your tattoo project. I will give you a flat-rate price for the tattoo once we have established budget, size, placement and color choices.  I will send along some dates that I have open, depending on your schedule. Once we agree on a date, you will need to pay a $50 - $150+gst deposit to hold your appointment date. This is non-refundable but comes off of your total on the day of your appointment.

​If you are getting a custom tattoo, I will show you your drawing on the day of your appointment. At this time, you will be able to request changes if desired.  Please note that I will never do 'speculative' work where I draw or sketch a tattoo idea for you before a deposit is paid.

Before your session, I will send you an email with detailed information on how to prepare for your appointment and locate my studio. During your appointment, you will have the opportunity to try on the stencil on different placements, and request changes if desired. You will fill out a detailed consent waiver prior to your session. Once the tattoo is complete, I will send another email with detailed healing information and some photos of your new tattoo.

Rate and Costs

 I price all tattoos via a flat-rate. This means that when you submit your booking form, I will give you a flat-rate quote taking into account the size, color option, complexity and placement of your tattoo. This rate may also take into account things like difficulty of subject matter and difficulty of placement. This way, you know exactly what your tattoo will cost on the day of your appointment. Any changes to size, color or placement may affect this quoted price- I will always communicate when I expect the quoted price to change.

If you're curious about my usual pricing - take a look at my flash book to get a sense of average costs. Most tattoos that I do fall between $130 - $270 for small work and $360-900 for medium to large work. 

Multi-session Work

For large multi-session work, I will flat-rate each session based upon a set number of hours spent tattooing. Usually multi-session projects will be broken into 2-4 hour sessions with a per session rate of $360-600 depending on what is needed. I rarely tattoo for longer than 4 hours in stint- I am willing to discuss full-day rates if you are travelling or would prefer to do this.

Minimum Charge

My minimum for tiny tattoos (less than 30 minutes of work, typically) is $125.

Setup Fee

My setup fee for touchups which are out of the 1-year window, or for other situations in which the minimum doesn't exactly apply is $75+gst

Payment

I accept payment via cash, debit cards and e transfers. 5% gst will be added to your remaining total on the day of your appointment.

Deposits / Rescheduling / Illness

Deposits

I require a $50 - $150+gst deposit sent via etransfer to confirm any appointment, or to hold any flash piece. Please do not submit a booking form if you are not financially able to put down a deposit at that time. Deposits are non-refundable in any circumstance. Deposits cannot be transferred to a different person, tattoo project or flash piece. The deposit price will come off of your total on the day of your appointment. Once we have confirmed a date and details for your appointment, I will request that you send a deposit to me. 
 Rescheduling

I require 72 hours notice to rebook appointments. Notice must be sent clearly via email (no DMS). Earlier is always better. If you send the notice less than 72 hours prior to your appointment- you will lose your deposit. See the caviots below for exceptions. 

​Please note- you are entitled to only 1 reschedule per deposit, if adequate time is given to reschedule. If you need to reschedule a second time, you will be required to put down a new deposit.

Illness / Covid Exposure

If you are sick or have a recent confirmed or suspected covid exposure- do not come to your appointment! Email me as soon as you begin to experience symptoms or learn of the exposure to reschedule. In most cases, you will keep your deposit. If you show up to your appointment and are sick or have a recent covid exposure- you will lose your depoist.

No Shows / Lateness

If you do not show up for your appointment, you will lose your deposit. If you are more than 15 minutes late without communicating beforehand, you will lose your deposit. 

Drawing and Customs

 Drawing Policy

I do not send artwork prior to the session date. I make exceptions in the case of very large work, and sometimes for first-time tattoo clients.  In these cases, the artwork will be sent the evening before the session, only if requested.  You will have the opportunity to request small edits during your session, before we begin tattooing. 

What do you get with a custom tattoo?

When you book a custom tattoo, the flat-rate quoted includes one complete linework-only drawing, which I will use for your stencil during your session. I do not usually do color-studies as a part of my regular tattoo process. I create a drawing based on the amount of information needed to complete the tattoo- usually, only linework.

If requested, the custom tattoo cost also includes one small round of edits (articulated in one clear, concise email or in-person during your appointment).

Additional drawing options, edits or color studies will incur a fee, which I will communicate to you before beginning the work.

Editing Fee

Additional edits to custom tattoos, or any edits to flash tattoos will incur an editing fee.  My editing fee is $35+gst per half-hour of work. I will bill this to you before your appointment date, after delivering the finished work. Most minor edits can be accomplished within 15-30 minutes. 

Redrawing / providing multiple options

For complete redraws, or if you request multiple options, there will be a flat-rate draw fee ranging from $20+gst for tiny tattoos, to $200+ for large projects. This will be communicated to you at the time of your request, and you can choose whether or not to incur the work. For redraws, I will require payment up front. 
Things that I enjoy tattooing

Please take a look through my portfolio and Instagram to see my recent work if you're curious as to what I like to do! In general, I love doing nature and fantasy imagery- such as flowers, animals, pets, human figures, elves, fairies and outdoor scenes.  I am very interested of fantasy, science fiction and vintage botanical or childrens' illustration. I am also happy to do anime and pop culture characters, as long as I can interpret them in my style. 

​ I generally work with detailed fine lines and pops of color. I am happy to do color or blackwork, flash and custom tattoos. I enjoy working on tattoos of all sizes- from tiny pieces to full sleeves or other large projects.  If you are not sure if I'm right for your project but are curious, feel free to send me an email or submit a booking form. I will redirect you to a different artist if I feel that they are a better fit for your idea!
Things that I won't tattoo

​I will not copy other current artists' work without explicit permission (historical art is fine). I will not copy images found on google / pinterest / instagram.  I do not do white ink tattoos or UV tattoos. I can't do photorealism and am not interested in directly copying photos / illustrations / graphics that already exist. I won't tattoo logos or highly graphic images. I will not tattoo hands, palms, necks, faces, fingers. I will not do patternwork, geometry, mandalas. I will not tattoo any racist / hatefully / appropriative content. I refuse the right to not accept a project for any reason, and will always try to redirect you to a different artist who might have a more relevant style for projects that I do not accept.

Touchups

Touchups

Touchups are to fix up small healing issues which may naturally occur during a tattoo's healing process. This can include filling in lines or color that fall out during the heal.  It is often not necessary to touch up a healed tattoo. You are entitled to one touchup, within one year of the tattoo being done, only if it is necessary.  Additional touchups beyond this, or beyond the 1-year window will incur a $75+gst setup fee.

​If you feel that your tattoo needs a touchup, please submit a booking form, ideally within 1-3 months after getting the tattoo and I will get back to you to book you in. Touchups are not intended to 'refresh' a tattoo at the year mark- if I feel that a tattoo looks fine and does not actually require a touchup, I may charge a fee for the session or encourage you to not bother with the session.
